Concept: vampires are really big into decorative stained glass windows because it’s the best way to add natural light and color into a dreary castle without the risk of a sunburn.
Regular glass filters out UV though so is it JUST that vamps are more sensitive to UV or some other aspect of sunlight that stained glass can filter out that they are allergic to?
Whichever answer gives me more license to put bigass ironically sacrilegious stained glass windows in every vampire setting ever.
One of my friends actually has a UV allergy, and bright light through a regular window can still cause side effects. The UV blocking capabilities of any pane of glass really depend on the specific variety of glass and how it’s glazed, so it’s totally arguable that vampires would commission large stained glass pieces from artists specifically for the grades of glass involved.
